Salam Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I hope everyone here is well- i pray that Allah guide us and forgive us our sin. I have a couple of questions for everyone. There are not meant to create any uproar but to sincerely seek out the reasons behinds certain issues within our ummah. I have noticed that inter-ethnic( i believe there is only on Human race differentiated by physical appearances and geographic locations) marriages have proven to be very difficult within the Muslim community even though our religion voices against rejecting/discrminating against someone base on the color the the skin, or place of origin. Keeping this in mind: why do we have problem marrying each other? why is it problematic for an Arab marry a black? what is wrong with a Pakistani fulfilling halal union with a white? why shia vs sunny( when we happily collaborate with/ marry non-Muslims)? are we as a ummah following the Sunnah of our beloved prophet by acting as such?
Despite the story of Bilal ibn Rabba ( RA) many are Muslims who look down on Black people let alone consider them for marriage. When i listen to preaches dealing with Muslim communities affected by calamities, i often hear about Middle Easterns countries' struggles in general and many times over( i am not saying this is not the right thing to do). However, the Muslim world pays very little attention is paid to African Muslims suffering at the hand of Boro Haram in Nigeria, AQMI In Mali, the Muslims In Darfur(even though their number may seem insignificant) What does this say about us as a ummah?
I simply want us to have an open-hearted, sincer as well as respectful discussion about these questions. I may be wrong so please let's share our thoughts as Brothers and Sisters. Thank you for your time as participation in advance.
